I had to setup a Verizon Fios Router the other day. The customer did not know the admin password for the router. I needed to change settings on the router to make it compatible with their existing network. I could have reset the router to factory settings. However, I believe the router uses PPOE and the customer never seems to know what the email address and password for the PPOE connection is. Now, the challenge begins.
If I have to reset the router, that means I have to call Verizon. I would not wish that upon my worst enemy. The stupid Verizon rep will make me power cycle the router 5 times before they will tell me the proper settings. I do not have the patience to listen to a Verizon "Tech" read off a flowchart trying to fix my problem. ( I know what the problem is) If I am calling Verizon tech support, trust that I tried everything else already three times hoping it was a problem on my end.
That being said, the common passwords I have found for Verizon Fios routers are:
verizon1
password1
Password1
Verizon1
The user name is always "admin".
